Cambodia, through Angkor Wat
Cambodia’s Angkor region packs a thousand years of Khmer history into a few square kilometres — temple-mountains, moated cities, and jungle ruins, all built between the 9th and 13th centuries. Angkor Wat itself began as a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu, a detail that still surprises most Indian travellers who visit.
